Expression 1. 비교급+than I expected ‘기대되다, 생각되다’
This is better than I expected. ‘이거 내가 생각했던 것보다 더 좋은 대’
Billy’s teacher is older than I expected. ‘빌리의 선생님은 내가 생각했던 것보다 나이가 많아요.’
The coffee here is more expensive than I expected. ‘여기 커피 제가 생각했던 것보다 더 비싸요.’
The movie was longer than I expected. ‘그 영화 내가 생각했던 것보다 길었어요.’

 

Expression 2. Do you have any(헤베니) 명사? ‘명사 있어요~?’
Do you have any question? ‘’질문 있어요?”
Do you have any free time this weekend? ‘요번 주말에 한가 하신 가요?’
Do you have any winter clothes? ‘혹시 겨울 옷 있어요?’

 

Expression 3. sort of(솔~업) ‘약간’
He is sort of strange guy. ‘그는 약간 이상한 사람 같아요.’
The movie was sort of long. ‘그 영화 살짝 길 더 라 구요.’
The new school is sort of small. ‘그 학교 좀 작은 거 같아.’

 

Expression 4. It’ll be nice not to have to + 동사원형 <합리화 시키기, 긍정적으로 생각하니>‘~하지 않아도 좋겠네.’
It’ll be nice not to have to call everyone and cancel the plans. ‘모두에게 전화하고, 계획이 취소돼서 좋다.’
It’ll be nice not to have to do any work for the next few days. ‘앞으로 몇 일 동안은 일안해도 되니 너무 좋다.’
It’ll be nice not to have to make dinner by ourselves. ‘우리 스스로 저녁은 준비 안 해도 되니 좋다.’

 

Expression 5. spend +돈/금액 + on ‘’~에 돈을 쓰다.’
The family spend a lot of money on gas for the car. ‘그 집은 자동차 유류 비에 돈을 많이 씁니다.’
He hates to spend money on the cigarette. ‘그 남자는 담배에 돈 쓰는 것을 싫어해.’
She always spends money on the cosmetics. ‘그 여자는 대부분 화장품에 돈을 써.’
